Standing on the Threshold

by Christopher Lovejoy on September 17, 2017

to embody a cherished quality,
act as if it is always and already
at the very heart of your being

What if … the most cherished wish that I could possibly fulfill, for this life, in this world, at this time, is a quality that I can cherish into realization and expression both, wholly and fully, by way of embodiment?

Which quality would I choose to embody in third density?

Formally speaking, harmony is defined as the quality of forming a pleasing and consistent whole ~ and, I would add, the quality of allowing a pleasing and consistent whole to emerge unbidden from the depths.

For reasons that I view as mysterious, I find I resonate easily and effortlessly with these simple yet potent definitions, all the more when I care enough to revisit this list of my most cherished values, as follows:

If making whole (a self, a life, a lifestyle, a world, a work in progress, a job, a relationship, a situation, a destiny) is a spiritual endeavor ~ a product of blissful generosity ~ then allowing a whole to emerge is a religious endeavor, involving the heart of soul ~ a product of peaceful gratitude.

Together, soul and spirit in harmony seem unstoppable.

Remarkably, in just a handful of sentences, I have revealed a purpose and an audience for an exquisite embodiment of value and quality through realization and expression. With a sensitivity to beauty in all its forms, it remains a matter of choosing a form and giving it my full attention.

The human body, viewed and treated with sacred intent as a form of beauty ~ static and dynamic ~ is complex enough, but when the human body is viewed and treated with sacred intent as a vessel for soul and as a vehicle for spirit, something extraordinary arises as a result.

If the human body is an object of beauty, then the human person is a subject for beauty.

No matter my situation at home, no matter my situation in life, no matter my situation at work, the human person remains, at least potentially, depending on where I am, a choice subject for receiving, reflecting upon, and responding to, the energy, experience, and enjoyment of beauty.

In remaining receptive and responsive to the beauty of the human person, soulfully and spiritually, through considered and contrasted reflection, I have ample opportunity to acquire and share my insights into the nature of human suffering, generally, and the meaning of my own suffering, in particular.

In being receptive, however, I cannot be obsessive, and in being responsive, I cannot be compulsive.

Between the receptivity of soul and the responsivity of spirit lies a mandorla of reflectivity in soul and spirit that opens me to the precious energy of sacred intent without any interference from the grasping, clutching energies of obsession and compulsion both.

I fall prey to suffering when I betray my soul to obsession and I become a predator of sorts when I bypass spirit with compulsion. In being truly submissive with my receptivity, I bypass obsession, and in being truly transmissive with my responsivity, I betray compulsion. Bypassing obsession and betraying compulsion are true tests of the capacity and ability to turn karma into dharma and fate into destiny.

For me, serenity is the infallible measure of having passed these tests.

I find it difficult, if not impossible, to be wholly intimate with or remain wholly intimate with those taken by the energy of obsession or with those driven by the energy of compulsion. I would rather keep the company of those who yield to their energy submissively and who channel their energy transmissively. Having shared this admission, I am not yet persuaded that I can ever easily do otherwise.

Ecstasy is a culmination of taking delight in beauty and harmony, serenely, by way of intimacy.

In this light, a constancy of ecstasy is the ultimate measure of my personal fulfillment.

In having read what I have written in this post so far, I find myself standing on the threshold of a new way of being in the world at this time, ready and willing to embrace a truly, uniquely submissive, transmissive way of being that is both cosmic and worldly in its nature, meaning, purpose, and direction.

In this post, I have a template with which and from which to move and flow onward and upward.

Now what work in progress might I find adequate to the task of making whole this template?

To share information and inspiration on what is happening on this troubled yet promising world, I drew up two lists of sites that are serving the causes of personal, global and/or cosmic awakening.
