Ultimate Fulfillment 81

We may note that in a universe of unending unity
the concept of a “Close Encounter” is humorous,
for are not all encounters of a nature of self with self?
Therefore, how can any encounter be less than very, very close?
~ The Law of One, Book 1, Session 26, p. 221

How indeed, which is perhaps why so many are so busy aiming for one experience after another, for is too much depth and breadth of encounter not uncomfortable – and potentially distressing?

The quick answer is “yes, of course”, if, like myself, you’ve made the attempt to sustain such depth and breadth, and if, like myself, you’ve also studied the reasons why this is so for years on end.

It’s not that we don’t like ourselves very much and it’s not that we don’t like each other very much.

Something else is going on, something much more profound, having to do with coming to a loving, lasting realization of heart and soul in the body as a vessel, having to do with learning and growing patiently, diligently, and persistently with the intention to evolve in mind and spirit through the body as a vehicle.

The powerful and peaceful sixth density social memory complex known as Ra featured in the Law of One series makes it quite clear: Let us remember that we are all one. This is the great learning/teaching. In this unity lies love. This is a great learning/teaching. In this unity lies light. This is the fundamental teaching of all planes of existence in materialization. Unity, love, light, and joy; this is the heart of evolution of the spirit. In light of this ultimate statement, consider this fictive scenario:

black-speckI woke up and all was white. My body was gone and everywhere was white, nowhere was not-white, and so I did what any highly evolved being would do: I surrendered to the white and meditated on the Unity of White with an attitude of friendly curiosity. It was then that I noticed, through my sense of touch, that I had a body, albeit it was completely white, blending totally with the Unity of White. And so I waited patiently for what seemed an eternity until a black speck appeared in my field of view, making me wonder: did I manifest this? Or was it manifested for me? No matter, I took heart from the appearance of this catalyst and switched my focus to the black speck whose distance I could not know.

The great learning, the great teaching, is that love (understanding) and light (wisdom) are to be found in Unity, but how can we possibly realize and appreciate the love and the light in any depth and breadth if it were not for those catalysts that evoke or provoke in us such pain and fear?

On the one hand, we have those who would dismiss any need for such pain and fear (the Transcendent Ones), having presumed that they are beyond such, having transcended such, and on the other, we have those who would realize and embrace the necessity of such pain and fear (the Immanent Ones), having surrendered themselves graciously to their influence to deepen and broaden, awaken and enlighten.

At first, when I contemplated this distinction, I found a most curious divide in the consciousness of humanity, one that doesn’t seem at all in keeping with the great learning and teaching that “we are all one”, but as I contemplated further, I realized this possibility: perhaps those who follow a path of transcendence are here to serve, at least indirectly, as catalysts for those who follow a path of immanence, helping them to remember that there is more to life than working through pain and fear, and perhaps those who follow a path of immanence are here to serve, at least indirectly, as catalysts for those who follow a path of transcendence, helping them to find the depths of their wisdom in compassion.

pdp---the-path-of-pdpMy approach, as one who is keen to approach a realization of the ultimate in personal fulfillment, is to follow what I have come to call the path of pdp, striking just the right notes of patience (“let it be”), diligence (“let it be or make it so?”), and persistence (“make it so”), when any lasting pain and fear show up in my life, such that I get to enjoy a transcendent view as or when this is possible as well as give immanence its due as or when necessary.

Meditating with sacred intent, especially where pain is concerned, and serving others profoundly (coherently, consistently) with divine motive, especially where fear is concerned, all in view of the great learning and teaching of Unity, along the path of pdp, seems to me like the best way for me to be a friend to the One Infinite Creator, whose manifesting power is not so incomprehensible as or when I care enough to tune into it with cosmic eyes and ears.
